Art of Freedom: Block 1 – Open call for Submissions

We’ve been offered a prime exhibition space at the entrance BTC 2025 Las Vegas conference—where every attendee will see our gallery. A large wall will feature "Art of Freedom" prominently, with 21 A2-sized artworks displayed above it.

Origin Block Edition: 7 Slots Filled

Seven artists from the Art of Freedom Genesis Block have already secured their spots. Now, we’re opening submissions for the next edition:

Block 1 Edition: 14 Open Slots

The movement began with AOF Origin Block, a decentralized art initiative turning city walls into a protest against inflation. Artists across the world created and freely distributed bold visual statements, reclaiming public spaces and sparking a global conversation.

Now, AOF Block 1 continues the fight. Fourteen selected artists will create exclusive, limited-edition works, pushing the message further while staying true to the values of freedom, decentralization, and resistance.

Artwork Specifications

• Original Artwork
  Artists must create original artwork specifically for the project, addressing the main theme of the edition—Inflation for the inaugural edition. The Art of Freedom (AOF) Collective reserves all curatorial rights.

• Creative Freedom
  Artists are encouraged to produce images in their own styles, to incorporate native languages, local imagery, or any ideas that resonate with their communities, as long as the work addresses the main theme of Inflation.

• Image Format
  All submitted images must be in Vertical A2 format.

• Edition of 7 prints
  Your artwork will only have an edition of  7 numbered original prints. This does not include the original if it is a hand made or an extra artist proof print if it is digitally made. The three will be sold in Las Vegas 2025. The remaining four and the original/AP are for the artist and can do with them what they wish.

• Scarcity
  Artists agree not to reproduce the artwork in any other format, including digital tokens.

• Print Production
  Artists agree to locally produce A2 Museum Quality Giclée prints to personally sign before shipping edition 1, 2 and 3 in three separate poster tubes to the gallery in Vegas.

• Shipping
  Artists promise to ship to the gallery on time at their own expense. If any works are left unsold, the artist is responsible for the cost of shipping to return the pieces.

Artists Specification

• Dates
  Artists understand that not respecting the stipulated dates might mean that they have to be left out of the gallery.

• Artist Promotion
  The AOF collective commits to promoting all participating artists and assisting with sales and other opportunities arising from the project.

• Project promotion
  Artists will agree to promote the gallery and the project through their platforms - twitter/nostr and websites

• Secrecy
  Artists agree to keep the project confidential until it is time to launch, when we can have maximum impact from a united plan.

Fees

1. Auction Fees
   AOF takes no money from you from the sale of your pieces. The amount the gallery takes will be decided by BTC and the auction house (usually 21%). 

2. Framing Fees 

To make sure that all pieces are framed equally and visually appealing as a collection, Art of Freedom will provide simple black frames for the exhibition. This means that artists also save on hassle, packing and postage costs. We will personally frame each piece prior to it being hung on the gallery wall a day before the conference begins. Each submitted piece will cost $95 including labour and frame, payable by lightning after submissions have been selected.

Dates:

1st April - Submissions closed, artists and pieces confirmed

18th April 2025 - Auction/buy it now piece information submitted to auction provider by artists

20th April 2025 - Pieces sent to Vegas

26th May - Framing and hanging

27th May - 29th -  Conference Exhibition
